# Spot Buying Intent with AI Intelligence Signals

> A live feed of companies surging on your topics — filter by signal kind, firmographics, and surge grade, then send the hottest accounts to an AI Agent.

AI Intelligence is your live Signal Feed — a ranked list of companies surging on the topics you sell into, visiting your site, hiring for relevant roles, raising money, or filing with the SEC. Filter the feed down to the accounts that match your ICP, review a company's full signal history in one click, then hand the hottest accounts off to an AI Agent so outreach starts while intent is fresh.

<Note>
  The Signal Feed is live. As soon as a company triggers a signal on your tracked topics — visiting your site, hiring, raising, or filing — it appears here.
</Note>

## Signal kinds and surge grades

Every row in the feed carries two pieces of quick-read metadata:

### Signal kind chips

| Chip         | What it means                                                                      |
| ------------ | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **RESEARCH** | The company is actively researching topics related to your product or category |
| **HIRING** | The company is posting jobs that indicate relevant buying intent or team growth |
| **EVENT** | The company is sponsoring, attending, or hosting an industry event |

| **SEC** | The company has filed a relevant document with the SEC |

### Surge score grades

| Grade | Surge threshold | What it indicates |
| ----- | --------------- | ----------------------------------------------------- |
| **A** | 85 +            | Very high intent — prioritize immediately             |
| **B** | 70 +            | Strong intent — worth acting on this week             |
| **C** | 50 +            | Moderate intent — monitor or add to a longer sequence |
| **D** | Below 50        | Early or weak signal — keep on a watch list           |

## Find and filter intent signals

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the Signal Feed">
    Navigate to **Home → AI Intelligence** at [newapp.salestools.io](https://newapp.salestools.io). The feed loads automatically, sorted with the most recent signal first, and the header shows a live count of companies currently surging.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Add research topics">
    In the left rail, open **Research topics** and type the keywords your buyers research before they buy — for example, `sales tooling` or `RevOps`. Suggestions appear as you type. The feed re-runs as soon as you add a topic.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Toggle buying signals">
    Open **Buying signals** in the left rail and check the behaviors you want to surface:

    * **Visited website** — someone from this company visited your site
    * **High web engagement** — above-average time or pages viewed on your site
    * **Multiple visitors** — more than one person from the company visited
    * **High engagement score** — a composite high-intent score across channels
    * **SalesAI network match** — matched via the Salestools intent-data network
    * **AI prospecting hit** — flagged by Sally's AI prospecting engine
    * **High AI match** — strong fit score against your ICP model

    Each toggle adds a filter chip and re-fetches the feed instantly.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Narrow by firmographics and technographics">
    Use the remaining filter groups to tighten the list to your ICP:

    * **Industry** — filter by sector or vertical
    * **Employee count** — set a headcount band
    * **Country / State / City** — narrow by geography (states and cities are free-text; type the full name and press enter)
    * **Technographics** — filter to companies currently using specific tools or platforms
  </Step>

  <Step title="Set a surge threshold">
    Open **Surge threshold** and pick a minimum score — **50+**, **70+**, or **85+** — to keep only the accounts with the strongest intent. Higher thresholds correspond to better surge grades (85+ = grade A).
  </Step>

  <Step title="Review and clear filter chips">
    Active filters appear as chips above the feed. Remove a single filter with its **×** button, or click **reset all** to clear everything and start fresh.
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Tip>
  Use the search box to jump straight to a known company name or domain. Use the left-rail filters to discover companies you do not know yet. Both approaches filter the same feed and stack together.
</Tip>

## Review a company and take action

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the company details panel">
    Click any row in the feed to open the full company details panel on the right. Review the company's **signal history**, **firmographics**, **SEC filings** (where available), and **related people** — contacts already in Salestools or linked to this account.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Prospect the company">
    From the details panel, click **Prospect this company** to jump into Prospector and pull contacts at that account directly.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Add to an AI Agent">
    Click **Add to AI Agent** from the details panel to route this single company into an existing agent that will start outreach automatically.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Send multiple companies to an AI Agent

<Steps>
  <Step title="Select companies">
    Tick the checkbox on each company you want to act on. Use the header checkbox to select every company currently visible on the page.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Click the bulk action">
    Once you have selected at least one company, an **Add N to AI Agent →** button appears in the feed header. Click it to open the agent selector.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Pick an agent or create one">
    Choose an existing AI Agent to add the companies to, or create a new agent seeded with your current selection. You will receive a confirmation toast when the companies are queued, and your selection clears automatically.
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Tip>
  Click **↻ Refresh** in the feed header at any time to cache-bust and re-pull the latest signals. Do this after changing your tracked research topics or before a prospecting session to make sure you are acting on the freshest intent data available.
</Tip>

## Troubleshooting

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="The feed is empty">
    Your filters may be too tight. Click **reset all** to clear every active chip, or lower the surge threshold to **50+** or **any**. Then add filters back one at a time to find the combination that returns results for your ICP.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="The 'Add to AI Agent' button is not appearing">
    The bulk action button only appears after you select at least one company. Tick a row checkbox — or the header checkbox to select the entire page — and the button will appear in the feed header.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="The company count looks slightly off after I set a surge threshold">
    The surge threshold is applied to results after they load, so the headline company count can differ from the number of rows displayed by a small margin. The companies shown do correctly respect your threshold — only the count badge may be slightly off.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="States and cities are not showing autocomplete suggestions">
    Country, industry, and most other filters offer type-ahead suggestions, but **States** and **Cities** are free-text fields. Type the full name — for example, `California` or `San Francisco` — and press enter to add it as a filter chip.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="A company shows no SEC filings or related people">
    Those sections only render when the underlying data exists for that company. Public companies are more likely to have SEC filing history; smaller or private companies often will not. Related people appear only when contacts are already linked to that account in Salestools.
