Quickstart is the fastest path from a brand-new Salestools account to a working AI sales agent. You describe your business and goal in plain English, pick a starting recipe, and Sally assembles a ready-to-run agent you can launch on the spot — no manual CRM setup, ICP configuration, or sequence writing required. The whole flow takes about three minutes, and no credit card is required until you book your first meeting.
Already completed onboarding? Returning to Quickstart redirects you to your Dashboard. To start fresh, go to Settings → Getting started and click Restart onboarding.

Before you begin

Sign up for a free account at newapp.salestools.io. Sally activates immediately and your 10,000 free onboarding credits are waiting — no credit card is needed to complete this flow.

Set up your first agent

The progress rail at the top of the screen shows three steps: Tell us about you → Pick a recipe → Preview & go live. You can move back and forth between steps at any time. If you’d rather skip ahead, Skip — pick a recipe jumps you directly to step 2, and Skip — open dashboard on the final screen lands you in the app without deploying anything.
1

Tell Sally about your business

Fill in four short fields to give Sally the context she needs to write on your behalf:
  • Your company domain (required) — e.g. acme.com. Sally reads your site to learn about your product and positioning.
  • What should Sally help with? (required) — tap a suggestion chip like “Book demos for Series A SaaS founders” or write your own goal in plain English.
  • Who’s your target market? (optional but recommended) — describe your ideal buyers, e.g. “RevOps leaders at 50–500 person B2B SaaS in US/EU, using HubSpot or Salesforce.”
  • How will we know it’s working? (optional) — your success metric, e.g. “3+ qualified demos per week.”
Select Continue when you’re done. Sally saves your answers as your permanent business context and uses them in every draft she writes going forward.
Sally infers your ICP automatically from your goal and target-market text — she maps structured filters (industries, company sizes, locations, buyer roles) from what you write, so your first agent targets a real cohort rather than free text.
2

Pick a recipe

Choose the automation template Sally should build first. Each card shows an estimated setup time and an outcome description:
  • Built-in recipes — canonical starter plays that ship with Salestools (LinkedIn outreach, email sequences, qualification, visitor tracking, social selling). The first card is tagged Most popular.
  • Team templates — automations your teammates saved and shared, tagged Team template. These are already tuned to your organisation’s playbooks and appear at the top of the list.
  • Start blank — build the cadence yourself in the visual editor (tagged Pro). This option is always available as a fallback.
Click a card to select it, then choose Set this up for me. Salestools pre-configures the audience, channels, and AI prompts for that outcome — you can change anything later in the agent builder.
If the recipe list fails to load, you’ll see a Retry button. Start blank is always available regardless.
3

Preview and go live

The final screen shows two panels side by side:
  • Setup snapshot (left) — a summary of your recipe, goal, target market, success metric, and how many ICP and company profiles are ready. If none exist yet, Sally creates starters from your domain automatically.
  • Sally · ready preview (right) — a plain-English play-by-play of what she’s assembled: the context she loaded, the ICP she inferred, the recipe selected, and confirmation that she’s ready to deploy.
Select Go live. Salestools deploys a real agent, marks onboarding complete, and opens the new agent in the AI SDR Builder so you can review and tune every setting before the first send.
Want to explore the app before deploying anything? Skip — open dashboard drops you on your Dashboard without launching an agent. You can build an agent any time from AI Agents → Create AI Agent.

What happens after you go live

Once your agent is deployed, Salestools opens it in the AI SDR Builder. From there you can:
  • Review the audience — check who Sally has queued for outreach and pin or remove specific prospects.
  • Adjust the voice — set the tone, add words to avoid, and write custom instructions for how Sally should sound.
  • Switch modes — choose CoPilot if you want to approve every draft before it sends, or AutoPilot to let Sally send autonomously within your guardrails.
  • Edit the playbook — swap the cadence shape or switch to the Automation Builder to hand-craft each step.
Deploying in AutoPilot mode sends real outreach to real prospects within your daily caps. If you want to inspect every draft first, select CoPilot mode on the Review step so nothing sends until you approve it.

Good to know

  • Everything is editable later. Business context, ICP, recipe, channels, and prompts are all adjustable in Settings, the AI Library, and the agent builder after the fact.
  • Onboarding only runs once per account. Once you complete the flow or an agent is deployed, returning to onboarding redirects you to your Dashboard. Restart it intentionally from Settings → Getting started.
  • Skipping never dead-ends you. If a context save fails, you can still continue — you’ll finish the setup in Settings instead. Start blank is always available on the recipe step, and the Dashboard is always one click away from the final screen.
